We love listening to songs. Almost all of us do. We love the singers, the actors who dance on the songs but only a few people care about the music production process. We have celebrated music directors since ages. From Naushad, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, S D and R D Burman to A R Rahman, Shankar Ehsan Loy and Pritam, we have had a history of great musicians because of which we have cult classic songs in every era, but have you ever wondered how a song is produced? How a musician works? We brought you a story of a musician who has delivered some great Marathi albums and some very well-known advertisement jingles, Mr Shantanu Ravindra Pande!

About Shantanu and His Way to the Music Industry

Born and brought up in a middle-class family in Ambajogai, a small town in Maharashtra, Shantanu has always been listening to classical music in his house. Both his parents and his elder brother are keen to music and have learnt Indian Classical Music. Shantanu was a bright child who focused on studies in his school while growing up in this beautiful musical environment. Later, he graduated engineering from College of Engineering Pune aka the famous COEP. It is during these days Shantanu found his own hidden talent.

Opportunity knocked Shantanu’s door as he got to provide music for a short film. He grabbed the opportunity and did so well that he kept on getting more such offers. Initially, he bought a musical keyboard which he played casually with his roommates and then professionally for some radio jingles as his popularity grew. All this while, he was doing equally great with his studies as well and he graduated his engineering with flying colours. He also got placed in a good company for his first job.

Meanwhile, he kept on getting more, and bigger opportunities. He composed advertisement jingles for Tata Tea, Crompton Pump, Bombay Stores, Venu Sabudana etc. During this period, he came in contact with two rising stars of Marathi Music Industry viz. Avadhoot Gandhi and Devdutt Baji. The three of them started working for a visionary Marathi movie director Digpal Lanjekar for his film “Fatteshikast.” Shantanu became Music Arranger under Devdutt Baji’s music direction. Together, they made such a wonderful album for Fatteshikast that it redefined the Folk Music of Maharshtra. The movie director Digpal Lanjekar finalized Devdutt Baji as the music director for his subsequent movies. Shantanu continued to be the music arranger for the recent Marathi Movies Pawankhind and Sher Shivraj. Seeing the splendid work of Shantanu as a music arranger, opportunities have started reaching his door and we will see him become a Pan India Music Director in the mainstream entertainment media very soon.

The Music Production, Arrangement and Programming Process

The process of music production is clearly something of a great journey in itself. In India, movie albums are produced according to the need of script. For example, let’s consider RRR. In order to show the growing friendship between Raju and Bheem, Dosti song is composed. For showing a chemistry between Jenny, Bheem and Raju and the gravity of moment, Naatu Naatu song is composed. Komuram Bheemudo is composed to portray Bheem as a symbol of revolt. These are the needs of script. These needs contain different sort of emotions. Songs are required to amplify those emotions. Same goes with background score. Lyricists do their job either before or after music composition, generally it’s prior to the composition so that composers can understand better what kind of music is to be provided. This is where music composition begins.

Be it composition of song or a background score, movie director explains the scene where song is to be played. Music composer gets the idea to set the basic tune for the song. It is completely a composer’s brainchild about what the basic tune for song is. That must be original. It may be inspired in some cases though. Next thing in music production is arrangement. That’s something Shantanu did in Fatteshikast, Pawankhind and Sher Shivraj and the upcoming movie of the franchise, Subhedar. Arrangement of music includes all the instruments that are played in the music to support the basic tune. Instruments can vary from classical Harmonium, Tabla, Sitar, Dholak to modern Guitar, Drum, Keyboard, Piano, Violene etc. They are all played at a certain pace, in a certain combination so that it gives the best experience. Sometimes these instruments are recorded separately and mixed electronically and sometimes these instruments are played live, all at once, after abundant rehearsal sessions in a recording studio. This one gives an authentic experience. Music piece gets ready after the arrangements. The background singers are engaged at this point. Music director explains the singers about the scale, tempo and other things regarding the particular music piece. After thoroughly going through the music, the singer rehearses the song multiple times until it meets the expectation level of music director. The song is then recorded in a studio. At this moment, a song is fully composed. All the songs of an album are composed this way. The album is then sold to the music labels (e.g. T Series, Zee Music etc). Sometimes a distributor is also engaged to distribute the albums with their copyrights to different platforms. Big music labels distribute albums by themselves.

Shantanu’s work with Devdutt Manisha Baji and Digpal Lanjekar

The Experience of music arrangements with Devdutt Baji for the 3 movies as described by Shantanu was wonderful. The most famous song from Fatteshikast, “Hechi Yel Deva Naka was composed overnight but the Qawwali Song “Wo Masiha Aa Gaya Hai” from the same album took much time and mammoth efforts. Checkout both the songs.

The chartbuster hit album of Pawankhind is by far the most versatile work of Shantanu. On one hand he arranged music for a Maharashtrian Folk song in the genre of Bharud called “Yugat Manadali” where he gathered all the folk instruments and made such a beat that made the audience crazy. At the same time, he arranged music for the superhit “Raja Aala” which has more of western composition. During the composition of Pawankhind album, there was a scene where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is descending fort Panhala along with his 600 soldiers and a duplicate. As per the plan, the duplicate was to be separated to follow the vulnerable path and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj would go by the comparatively less enemy supervised way. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj got emotional at this moment but the duplicate Shiva Kashid is ready to die for his King. This scene and the subsequent scenes where they keep on going separate ways on a rainy night through dense forests, required a music piece which would portray all the emotions accurately, both through the lyrics and music. At this point Shantanu said, Avadhoot Gandhi dug out a perfect song from history, written by Saint Tukaram “Rani Nighata Shur” and then they arranged music for it. The wonder they created through this song made everyone cry at the theatres when it played! That, I think, is a sign of real achievement for an artist.

Listen to the Pawankhind Album in a jukebox here

After Pawankhind, Shantanu arranged music for the next film in Digpal’s franchise “Sher Shivraj.” The magic of making the brilliant music by the Duo of Shantanu and Devdutt worked in this movie as well. Everyone in Maharashtra is well familiar with this story. Still, creating such an engagement to the movie wouldn’t have been possible without the music.

The songs “Yelkot Devacha,” “Amhi Veer Zunjar” and “He Shaktipeeth Nayike” were also at par with the Duo’s previous work.

Listen to the Sher Shivraj album here.

Shantanu’s latest work has unveiled with the release of the latest movie in the universe of Shivraj Ashtak, “Subhedar”. He has done a phenomenal job as an associate music arranger and producer, specially for the background music of Subhedar. The movie is currently running in theatres and is going hit. Audience is appreciating many things about movie including its background score.

Shantanu’s work with Onkarswaroop for TDM and Chowk

Shantanu’s other notable works in the recent times include music arrangement, programming and production of the Marathi movie album “Chowk” (2023) and “Bakula” song from Marathi movie “TDM” (2023). Both of these works are done by Shantanu for another rising star in Marathi Music Industry, Onkarswaroop. Checkout Chowk movie songs and Bakula song here.

Family’s Support

While asked upon the support of family for his career so far, Shantanu shared an interesting story. When he was offered his first album “Fatteshikast” for music arrangement, Shantanu resigned from his job and did not tell his parents about it. He shifted to his elder brother’s apartment in Mumbai for the work. His brother supported him with all the trust. The production went on for months and Shantanu kept on lying to his parents that he was doing job whenever asked upon. He completed the work. Movie released after a few days and a premier show was aired. Shantanu was obviously invited. Shantanu called his parents to Mumbai and surprised them in the premier show. He finally told his parents about the opportunity he got and that he wanted to further his career in Music Industry. His parents agreed to his career choice, and they are very proud of their son as he is proving his word.

Shantanu as a Singer!

Apart from being a brilliant musician, Shantanu is a very good singer as well. This is a song composed and sung by Shantanu himself. Listen to “Chal Duniya” on his site – https://www.shantanupande.com/music

A Genre Defining Musician

When you listen other individual songs on his site, especially Khwabida, you realise that this guy has a potential that of A R Rahman, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, M M Kreem and Shankar Ehsan Loy. His sense of music is far better than those established overrated copycats nowadays. Therefore, we need to celebrate him. We need to bring such talent to the heights of success. Team Words of DPM thanks Shantanu for giving us an opportunity to articulate his story. We look forward to see him become a successful music director and win many awards and more importantly, many hearts.

Warm Regards,

Humans, the most evolved species on earth, have always been loving other animals and birds. Petting has been a practice in almost every civilization, be there our necessity to pet animals or be just a pure affection, we love to pet even today. But when it comes to petting birds, we cage them. We want them before our eyes always and thus we snatch their basic right to fly. Is this petting really worth it? Is that our love for birds? Today we have brought you the story of a bird lover, birdwatcher Radhika Sonawane who has pet around 30 parrots and some other birds but not in any cage. They visit her balcony every day. She loves them, they love her as well. Stay around and read further about this mind-blowing story.

About Radhika Sonawane

Radhika Sonawane is an Assistant Manager at SBI Mutual Funds. Originally from Aurangabad, Maharashtra, she currently lives in Pune. She has been a bird lover since her very childhood. This hardworking, independent young lady was stuck in her rented apartment in Pune during the first nationwide lockdown. With no friends and family around and staying inside for many days, Radhika found her childhood hobby to be useful.

Befriending the Birds

As stated earlier, Radhika has always been a bird lover. She saw, one of her neighbours has installed bird feeders in her balcony and many birds would come to her. Inspired by her neighbour, Radhika bought some bird feeders. Her neighbour taught Radhika about how to attract birds. She studied specifically about what to feed to each bird, like Parrots love peanuts while bulbul loves banana. There also has to be a demarcation between the shapes of feeder pots as well. Parrots have a larger beak, thus they need bigger feeders. Bulbul, sparrow etc. need particularly smaller feeders. That’s the first thing to attract the bird, she says. They primarily look for food. Therefore, feeding them is the first step to befriend them.

Another important thing to attract the birds, is altitude. She lives at the top floor of a 4 story building. Altitude of around 3 to 4 floors is comfortable enough for most of the birds out there. Her location was perfect to attract the birds, we can say.

Interaction with Birds

Birds are afraid of humans as we all know. It’s a hard task to win their trust. Primarily they seek food. Parrots and Bulbul are the best interactive birds. They talk with us. They nod their heads as we talk. Some parrots even come closer and let us pet them. Bulbul, on the other hand, is a singer bird. It loves banana chops. Radhika said Bulbul gets excited to see its favourite food and starts singing before eating. Tailor bird is also one of such kinds which gets excited and sings if we keep some cotton for it. Yes, tailor bird seeks only cotton to build nest.

Crow, despite being a very hated or disguised bird, seems to be very gentle. Crows, Sparrows, Parrots, Bulbul are very lovely birds with little to none harm for us. Pigeons on the other hand are very aggressive specie of birds. Their eating habits are too wild, said Radhika. They also don’t let others eat.

Upon asking if birds understand our emotions, Radhika answered that they don’t. Most they can do is that they talk with us. They aren’t like dogs. Probably emotional bonding is not a thing a bird should have. A Bird’s fate is to fly around different locations, it should not get attached to a place or a person.

Types of Radhika’s Bird-Friends

Majority of Radhika’s Bird-Friends are parrots. In parrots, there are generally 2 types – Alexandrian Parrots and Indian Ringneck

Apart from parrots, Sunbird, Weaver Bird, Crows, Sparrows, Pigeons also visit her daily. Some of the birds are seasonal. They fly away after 2-3 months and never come back.

Extinction of Birds

Radhika has a good insight and a very deep concern about extinction of birds out there. It is true to some extent, that birds are losing their navigation sight because of excessive radio waves created by mobile network towers; However, the primary reasons are pollution and climate change. A full pack of birds keep changing their locations between continents. Many a times they become victims of drought, heavy rainfall, acidic rains, wildfires, etc. Amongst her bird-friends, Alexandrian Parrots and sparrows are about to be extinct, Radhika said. The consequences of this extinction are already visible. Birds help in forestation so much that it is very hard for humans to catch up to that, especially when our deforestation rate is higher than that of planting trees. Another thing birds do, is that they eat the insects which damage the crops. With excessive use of pesticides, we have made the crops poisonous for both the birds and us. The task is to save the birds along with trees. How do we ensure that? Let us have a better perspective.

Save the Birds

There are multiple NGOs and trusts committed to research and preservation of birds, but they surely lack public support. We are very animal friendly when it comes to dogs, cats, cows, etc., but we do need to have some empathy and effort for preserving birds as well. India has been a land where the belief of co-existence is considered godly. We just need to embrace those ancient teachings of “Sarvepi Sukhinah Santu”. As I write this blog, there is Pitru-Paksha i.e. fortnight to remember ancestors going here in India. There is a ritual to feed crows in this fortnight. In her own words, read what Radhika has to say about it –

“Have you ever planted Peepal or Banyan trees or seen anyone planting them? Do you ever find peepal or banyan seeds? Your answer will mostly be no. The reason behind this is that the nature has made a separate arrangement for planting these two useful trees. The crows eats fruits, called Goda, of these two trees and the seeds of these two trees are processed in their stomachs. Then the seeds are worth growing. After that, both these trees grow where the crows give excreta.

Peepal is the only tree in the world that emits oxygen 24 hours and banyan has many medicinal properties that are too much to be described in short. If you want to grow both of them, then it is not possible without the help of crows, so the crows have to be saved. But how would this be possible? The female crow lays eggs in the month of Bhado (August-September) and newborns are born. Children of this new generation should get nutritious and rich food. Therefore our sages and monks arranged nutritious food for the newborn crows in the form of Shraddh so that the new generation of crows can be nurtured. Our rushi-munis were too clever. By knowing the fact that for human wellbeing these two trees are most important to save these trees they started to feed nutritional diet giving ritual to crows. And this tradition is based on enviornmental facts.”

Positive Changes in Radhika’s Life

Radhika said she has very few friends and she often used to be lonely in her apartment. Birds visit her and she feels immense positivity around them. Apart from this, Radhika’s unique friendship with birds has become an internet sensation. From having telecasted her story on electronic news media like Times Now, India Today, Times of India, and at least a dozen more, to getting some foreign media attention as well, Radhika’s life has drastically changed in the last few months.

Some people also demanded to have a parrot captured so that they can cage it, but she straightaway denied such demands. She has also started making reels on Instagram showcasing various actions of these birds. Despite becoming an internet sensation, Radhika is very down to earth. She invited our team to her apartment. I personally went with my friend Mayuri on a fine morning of October 2nd, 2021. We were overwhelmed to see the birds coming to balcony and interacting in large numbers.

Radhika Shows Path

Not a tough job when we start celebrating to save the lives of birds right? We definitely need people like Radhika to show us a path. Radhika is just a common lady having concern and love for birds. Can’t we learn to plant trees and keep bird feeders in our balcony? It is important for our coming generations, else our future kids might have to see the birds only in sanctuaries. Thus, pet them, and pet them without cage!

Dr. Nutan, a simple girl belonging to a middle class family from a small town goes on to serve Covid patients at Sion Hospital, Mumbai and secures All India Rank 1 in NEET Super Speciality Entrance Exam at the same time. This woman is dynamic and extremely inspiring with having a very wonderful story behind her success. Let us know more about her and let’s spread this true example of woman empowerment to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2021.

The School Life

Nutan belongs to a middle class Maharashtrian family. She went to Yogeshwari Girls’ High School Ambajogai. If I tell you she was a bright student, it may not actually reveal the aura of academic success she had in school, so here’s a brief information about it. In 7th standard, she secured scholarship in the State Level Scholarship Exam. In her 8th, she ranked 19th all across the state in Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (MTSE) and in 9th, she ranked 16th in MTSE. In 10th, she ranked 3rd all across the state in History Talent Search and secured scholarship in National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). In 10th, she got 92.92% in the boards and secured 1st rank in the town. Seems like ranking was a sports to her.

Her extra curriculum achievements are nonetheless any short of her academic successes. As she liked to make poems, she attended many state level poetry contests and won various prizes. She has also mentioned that she has participated in many district level contests, competitions and programs and has won bunch of prizes. All in all, she was not just a textbook addict topper or “nerd”. She was a rockstar in her school.

Well that may still not be very unconventional but how many of the 15 year old school going kids would ever imagine to send Rakhi to the President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam? Yes, Nutan sent a Rakhi by parcel to the President Kalam and the President himself sent an answering letter with a gift.

We can firmly say she was destined to be a doctor and serve patients when, at the age of 14, she sold hand made garlands along with her friends and sent that money for the rescue and treatment of 2004 Andaman Tsunami victims. Not everyone can think like this and even if they think, not everyone can act so gracefully. Nutan was such a lovely school girl.

Nutan’s Way to MBBS

She chose science stream after her 10th and decided to be a doctor.

She got admission in Rajarshi Shahu College, Latur, for her 11th and 12th Science. She put hard efforts in the preparations of MHTCET (The Medical Entrance Exam) and secured 64th rank all across the state. Her way to MBBS was now clear.

She got admission in Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Sion, Mumbai.

http://www.ltmgh.com/frontview/index.aspx

From ‘Nutan’ to “Doctor Nutan Joshi”

As she got admission in a renowned institute in Mumbai, the small town young girl had her first setback when she faced hardships to get along with the metropolitan environment and felt under-confident in front of the English speaking, confident urban classmates. She failed her first unit test. She also got typhoid. She started to have self doubts. She doubted her own abilities.

Every setback is meant to propel you for greater successes. She converted these negative thoughts into challenges and kept studying thoroughly. She started working on her English. She wrote down every problem she had and drafted a solution for each of them. She executed the plans she made. She wrote down difficult topics. She practiced answers as per the exam pattern. Four months later when another unit test happened, she topped it. The professor acclaimed her performance. Throughout her MBBS, her rank never fell below 5! This is pure dynamism. The rate at which she made a massive comeback after her setback was in fact meant to push her career in a long trajectory.

She has a distinction in ENT, Pediatrics, Pathology and Microbiology.

So what else did the school rockstar do in her MBBS apart from studying and ranking? As mentioned earlier, she is a poet and very much a fond of involving in the cultural activities. She was the head of Marathi section of the college magzine “Rhapsody” in 3rd year of MBBS. She also got prizes for her Poetry all this while.

Nutan’s Perseverance and MD (General Medicine)

After her internship, she appeared for the NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post Graduation) exam for her MD (Doctor of Medicine). She was getting every other branch but medicine. Many of her peers and friends suggested to opt for any other branch. Nutan would never settle for anything less. She always felt that Medicine branch is holistic. She had the insight that she should learn more of it. She considers herself fortunate have the support of her loved ones. She decided to repeat the NEET for MD, which was about to be appeared in the next six months. She said those six months were a great time. She had multiple ups and downs but she remained calm in all those events. She appeared in the NEET exam. Do you still need to guess if she ranked this exam? Of course she did. She secured 12th rank state-wide and 369th nation-wide. She got the stream of her choice, Medicine, that too in the same college in which she pursued her MBBS.

At this moment when I was hearing her, I noticed something really special. She said that she enjoyed her 3 years of MD. That one sentence of her had me clarify my definition of passion and that’s where I’m trying to draw your attention as well. One of the very basic reasons of Nutan’s consistent successes is that she enjoys her profession. It gives her joy to treat the patients and learn new things. She likes to have all kinds of experiences in her profession.

Experiences with Patients

She cited a few memories while generally talking about various types of patients and their relatives. She said she has seen such patients with very poor economic background yet their relatives would arrange the money for their treatment. On the other hand she has seen some patients having sound financial conditions yet they would be lonely. No relatives would meet them.

Many a times during her MD, she used to work for more than 16-18 hours in the hospital. The patients would care for her. They used to ask if she had any food and many a times patients’ relatives would even offer the food.

One of the patients she treated had a business of footwear. He gifted her a pair of sandals out of gratitude. While Dr. Nutan said she did nothing but controlled his blood sugar, but the patient must have felt very secure and full of life with her treatment I can assure.

She recalled an incident from her MBBS 1st Year when a patient turned out to be from her hometown, Ambajogai. He had a poor background and thus was living in Dharavi slum of Mumbai. When his treatment was over and he was fit again, his family members asked Dr. Nutan to visit their home and have their gesture. After all being a lady, Nutan felt a little insecure to visit his home. She asked her mother about this and her mom said to go with a friend. Nutan thought about it and went alone. She mentioned that the man was living with his family in a congested house. They arranged all the gesture they could. They served her lunch of Puran Poli (The Maharashtrian sweet dish prepared on festivals and special occasions.) Nutan was overwhelmed by this experience.

There’s a clear differentiation between a doctor and any other professional. While other professionals will serve you with their skills, charge you and you simply leave them, you just can’t get away in case of a doctor. You feel gratitude towards the doctor. Nutan surely has achieved a lot of academic success but this love she got from the patients and their relatives, no other measurement will be efficient to define her success. Remember the schoolgirl who sent money for Tsunami victims by selling garlands? Kindness is a virtue, and is only achieved by embracing it. Dr. Nutan herself has mentioned a quote in the conversation and I quote, “You can’t always be the smartest or the most perfect person in the room, but you can always be kind!” Nutan is kind hearted and she treats her patients that way. Thus the positive vibes get the appreciation. It may not be very difficult to be as kind and simple as Dr. Nutan is, but if we could only try, there will be a lot of positivity around us for sure.

The Saga of NEET Super Speciality (Clinical Haematology) All India Rank 1

The word “saga” is a perfect depiction of the journey she went through to achieve the greatest success of her life. Let’s know about it in detail.

The Decision Making Process

Near the end of her 1st year of MD Medicine, she was about to be placed in the very famous Hinduja Hospital of Mumbai for Nephrology. She had one more reason not to go for DM ( Doctor of Medical or DM Super Speciality) that her favourite stream, Medicine, would lose, at least for a while.

In all this while, she was at the age when most Indian women get married and have at least one child. Though her parents were not forcing anything but it was her individual dilemma to get married or not.

She thought about it. When she was in her MBBS, she was keen to know more about Haematology. Let me brief you about it. Haematology is related to study and treatment of blood & blood related disorders. There is a doctor in Sion hospital named Dr. Mamata Mangalani who was the senior of Dr. Nutan. Dr. Mamata had opened a Thalassemia centre for children. Dr. Nutan was inspired by Dr. Mangalani’s work in the field of paediatrics and blood cancers. Thus she wanted to learn more about blood diseases. Haematology was indeed her interest from the very beginning we can say.

Apart from her own interest, Haematologists are very rare in the society. She considered this while deciding about furthering her career in the said field.

She specifically referred to a book called Ikigai when describing her decision making for choosing Haematology. She got a perception for decision making in that book, that you should do any work only after making sure four things as under:

Do you really like it?

Are you getting enough money for it?

Are you contributing to the society?

Are you satisfied with the work?

Dr. Nutan followed this. From her own experiences, she knew that she’d never settle for anything less. She thought, that just like the marriage, her career will be with her lifelong. She chose her career and started preparing for NEET Super Speciality Haematology Entrance Exam.

The Corona Pandemic, Her Tireless Duty, Studies and the Giant Reward of Efforts

An invisible virus held the world at one breath amidst all this in 2020. Mumbai got the highest number of cases and the Sion Hospital where she was working, was amongst the peak number of Covid cases per day. She had the duty for more than 20 hours for many days. She did it. Amongst all the Corona warriors, Dr. Nutan was in the frontline. This is in itself very inspiring and not only Dr. Nutan, but all the doctors who served Covid patients deserve a grand salute. The pandemic affected her exam preparations quite obviously. She got only one month study leaves for her preparations and kept studying as much as she could. She appeared for the exam. And the day came, September 25th, 2020. The results for NEET Super Speciality were announced and Dr. Nutan Damodharrao Joshi secured All India Rank 1 with astonishing 343/400 marks in Clinical Haematology! Take a look at the news reports below.

The journey she went through had many odds in its way, she mentioned her only distraction was marriage. She had a dilemma about getting married or continuing with career. She made quite a brave choice. She fought against all the odds bravely and she served Covid patients in the frontline quite bravely. This bravery surely makes her a Warrior, a Warrior in White!

Nutan is currently pursuing DM Super Speciality in Clinical Haematology at Christian Medical College, Vellore, Tamil Nadu.

Family’s Support, Mentors and Friends

While analysing Dr. Nutan’s story as a case study, I felt one thing to be very much distinctive being an Indian. Usually in India, people mistake letting their daughters allow education till graduation for progressiveness. Eventually all the ladies get marriages imposed on them by their parents. Even if there are best of the progressive parents, they’ll heavily persuade their daughters to get married after a certain age. Well, to an extent it is still appropriate to get married in a proper age, it must be the girl’s own decision and not an imposed one. Nutan’s family seems to be very progressive in this case. Dr. Nutan is very much rooted to her parents, she loves them dearly. The parents did not impose her to get married, though they tried to convince but did not force, that’s why she kept learning this long and could achieve heights of successes. This co-ordination between Nutan and her parents is commendable. This is more than enough to explain the degree of moral support she has got from her parents.

As mentioned above, she got her first major setback in the early days of her MBBS 1st year and she got typhoid. Her mom had come to Mumbai that time and caressed her quite very well. That gave her the ability to bounce back and sustain the success. This is one of the many examples of how her mom supported her in all the odds.

When she appeared for NEET-PG and couldn’t get Medicine branch, many of her friends, seniors and relatives kept on advising her to opt for any other stream. Imagine the dilemma she had faced at that time. It was her younger brother Vaibhav and her parents who stood by her and strongly supported her decision to repeat the NEET PG Entrance Exam and she got the courage.

She says she’s keen to her mom. She understands that despite being talented, her mom couldn’t do much in career. She tells she’s living her mom’s dream while getting all these successes. She learns simplicity from her father. From the very childhood, she said, her father has been motivating her for every competitive exam.

Her elder sister Dharini, whom she calls “Didi”, younger brother Vaibhav and her mentor Kiran Kodarkar whom she terms as “Kiran Dada” are the biggest support system of her life, she said. Didi is her strongest emotional support, and Vaibhav is her younger brother who is more like an elder brother and a best friend to her. Vaibhav has always encouraged her to think and act out of comfort zone while standing still with her in any decision. It is because of Vaibhav and Didi she said, she could decide to go further in her career. Her mentor Kiran has always encouraged her to dream big. He has always motivated her in all the ups and downs, and he believed that she would definitely get All India Rank 1 some day.

Dr. Nutan with younger sibling Vaibhav

Apart from these people, Nutan mentioned some of her friends to be very supportive which includes Prachi, Sheetal, Nilima, Sonia and a teacher called Neeraj Sir.

Dr. Nutan’s take on Health, Spirituality and Meditation

Dr. Nutan told that she’s curious about Spirituality and always tries to explore it. She follows Sadhguru, Swami Mukundananda, and B K Shivani. She told that spirituality is very comprehensive and consists of many activities when we preach it. One of the core factors for achieving spiritual goals is good health, both physical and mental. For physical health, she does exercise everyday for 20-30 minutes. For mental health, she practices meditation for 15 minutes everyday. She always tries to stay positive in any situation. She likes to hear some good music for relaxation.

Apart from this, Dr. Nutan likes reading. She referred to an app called Booklet in which there are summaries of some good books and autobiographies. She was in fact very motivated by reading some autobiographies of great people. She wondered how they remained focused and calm in all the odds.

Her room is full of good thoughts and positive wall posters. She mentioned that whatever goal you want to achieve, it should be right before your eyes as you get up. She had written “Rank 1” at her library table while preparing for NEET Super Speciality. No wonder this woman has achieved many milestones. She lives whatever she determines. As of now, she has written in her room a list of daily practices she wants to preach, including use of a staircase for 4 floors, reading one article everyday, and doing Yoga for at least 30 minutes everyday. She’s preaching on it.

Success Tips from Dr. Nutan

She has specifically mentioned that there were no social media to get distracted neither did she watch the television as such during her school days. Her studies were very consistent and focused. She said she never had any problem whilst living in Ambajogai and Latur till her 12th. As mentioned above when she got her first setback in MBBS 1st year, she wrote down every problem she faced, she planned the solutions in detail and she executed each one of those plans quite gracefully. That’s what she said, whatever the problem is, write it down and look for the solutions, plan, execute and achieve the goals. Some more succes tips she gave and I quote, “Your career is in your hands. You must give your maximum involvement for the cause you’re doing it. Never multitask, never keep dilemma, put your 100% of calibre to achieve your goals. Keep yourself calm and down-to-earth. There is nothing bad in having big dreams. Whatever goal you want to achieve, you must be good with mental and physical health. Never take them for granted.”

Especially for the women out there, she has a message:

“Whatever the problem is, write it down. Look for the solutions. Plan your actions and be very specific about it. For example, if you want to lower your social media usage, be specific that you’ll use it only once a week. Not only in career but also in personal life, not only for the working women but also for the house wives, being strong, staying mentally and physically fit and solving the issues with proper plans is the key to success.”

Dr. Nutan has an overwhelming and wonderful journey of her success. Her consistent efforts, simplicity, kindness and compassion have always kept her graph increasing. As a woman, she’s an ideal not only for the medical students but also for everyone out there. Let’s share this true, very genuine example of Women Empowerment. We wish our best for her further journey in Clinical Haematology and we believe Dr. Nutan will be a very renowned Super Specialist soon. Patients will feel relaxed and comfortable when Hematologist Dr. Nutan Joshi will treat them!

Early Days of Childhood

Belonging to a middle class Marwadi family, Satyajeet happens to be a millennial generation kid. Every single incident from his childhood which I am going to quote here, is a sign how his destiny signaled radical switch-overs he was going to make in future.

Ujani, a small village in the district of Latur, Maharashtra is his ancestral homeland where he completed his LKG, and later, because of the transfer of his father, he had to move to Ambajogai, a small town in the district of Beed. Satyajeet has immense love for this place. As a kid, he was a bright student in his primary school. When he was in 4th standard, the teacher took his book for teaching and forgot to return him and went home along with that book. He apparently kept some money in Satyajeets’s book. On the next day, Satyajeet got his book back from the teacher. The teacher forgot about the money he kept and when he recalled it, he asked all his students whose book did he carry to his home, and said that he had kept ₹ 300 in that book. Satyajeet went to the teacher and told that the teacher took his book. The teacher asked about the money he kept. Satyajeet said, “It must be right where you put”. The money was as it was. Satyajeet was publically appreciated for his integrity that day. That’s what integrity is, being honest and true even if no one is watching over you, isn’t it? This explains how Satyajeet embraced good manners from his very childhood.

Never mistake good manners for lack of childish naughtiness in any kid. When he was 12, Satyajeet had once managed to steal green mangoes from the neighborhood of his friend, that too by deceiving their maid. He stole as many as 70 green mangoes from the well-fertile mango tree of that house. Obviously he was scolded by his father when the neighborhood complained about it.

Along with being naughty, he was very sentimental. He mentions that once he had cried in front of whole classroom on being scolded by teacher. He has once lost the election of Class Monitor miserably. All in all, he has experienced many ups and downs in school life.

The Cricket Love and Subsequent School Change

Satyajeet said he was addicted to cricket during his 6th to 8th. This addiction was so severe that he literally copied in the final exams of 8th standard due to lack of studies. He mentioned that during final exams of 7th standard, his father scolded him for not studying and himself took Satya’s classes few days prior to exam. Satya scored 96% in 7th standard, scoring 100 out of 100 in Science.

He had participated in a state level cricket tournament at Kolhapur representing his school. He took 6 wickets in that single inning. His success in Cricket and continuous decline in his academic career made his father wary of his career. He says he was literally addicted to cricket. His father changed his school and town. From Yogeshwari School of Ambajogai he moved to Saraswati Vidyalaya Latur. His father shifted the house to Latur permanently. He mentions that he loves Ambajogai. Apart from the friends he had in that town and his wonderful school life, he loves Ambajogai as a town. He has often randomly visited the town just to roam around.

The Engineering Dream and Back-to-Back Switch Overs

He has no great memories of his schooling in Latur though. He started studying quite seriously and listed amongst the toppers of school in 10th. At this moment, his father wanted him to become a Chartered Accountant, as he is today, but he wanted to pursue Chemical Engineering. He scored more than enough to get admission in Rajarshi Shahu College Latur (The pioneer of “Latur Pattern” and one of the toughest junior colleges in Maharashtra to get admission in.) He had a very tough schedule in his 11th and 12th. He used to have the college for 12 hours a day followed by his own study hours. His hustle and efforts worked, as his score in JEE was very good. Though he couldn’t get into Chemical branch of top engineering colleges, he got admission in Pune Institute of Computer Technology and got IT branch, that too under a special scheme where his 90% fee was waived off. Nothing was going wrong and he started pursuing career of his choice from a renowned institute. The first semester was over and he failed in one subject. He doubted his choice of pursuing engineering and he decided to leave the field.

He decided to pursue CA. He joined the only CA Coaching in Latur. During his CPT batch, he could barely understand accounting and law concepts but he acknowledges the effective teachings of all those teachers. He scored 145/200 in the very first attempt of his CPT.

Meanwhile, nobody knew he appeared for the Engineering CET as well, again. Apparently he scored well enough again to get into any tier-1 engineering college. This was the biggest turning point of his life as he faced a very complex dilemma of choosing either of the career options. He met many people for counsel. Before the last day of applying for engineering admission, he left the ball of making decisions in the court of his parents which they passed it on to their Family Goddess. They put 10 chits, 5 each for CA and Engineering in front of the Goddess deity. Shuffled all those chits and randomly picked out 5 of them. 4 of them showed CA and 1 showed engineering. Satyajeet tore apart the ₹ 1,25,000 DD he had for the engineering fee, cancelled his ticket from Latur to Pune and joined the same coaching institute’s IPCC batch on the same evening. Thus, the confused satellite finally made its orbit clear. The engineering seat lapsed and so did his dilemma. Satyajeet regrets of not being an engineer even today, for no reason I believe.

IPCC and Articleship

IPCC was 10 times greater, more tough than CPT. He started to have issues with the basic concepts of accounting. He mentioned that he exclaimed as “fantastic” when Prof. Jadhav Sir solved a problem of Incomplete records on board. It made him wonder how a balance sheet tallies after all those efforts. He still feels embarrassed recall this memory, but I think that simple incident tells us a lot about Satyajeet as a student. Curiosity and learning with joy are two of the greatest propellants of success. Satyajeet had them. He scored 446/700 in IPCC in the very first attempt, clearing both groups. He was the only student in his batch to do so.

Satya now had one more confusion, where to do the articleship i.e. the 3-year long practical training of CA Course. Though he is a homesick and a hometown lover, he decided to pursue articleship in Pune. After a lot of research and analysis, he joined office for the same at Hemant Shah and Associates.

He mentioned that he learnt every task all by himself without taking anyone’s favour. He had many challenges in his way, many a times he was scolded by his principal like every other article, he was also assigned with multiple tasks at a time but he remained patient and learned everything he could. He practiced over all the work he got. He made all the honest efforts to be a good CA Student. Being a cricket lover, he managed to play cricket after office hours during the first year of articleship. He had to discontinue it after he joined his CA Final classes. He told that he repeated the entire classes of Strategic Financial Management just because he was sleepy throughout the previous course. In December 2019, he went on exam leave completing all the work he had at his disposal in a simultaneous hustle of pending lectures. Satya started studying for May 2020’s CA Final examinations he had.

His biggest takeaway from his articleship, he says, is the paradigm development of soft skills. While having 4 tasks on your desk and 2 clients facing along with one more calling for queries, Satya says this is exactly where your patience and soft skills are tested.

The CA Final Exam and Effect of Corona Pandemic

He threw away his smartphone and got a simple mobile phone to avoid distractions. He used to study 15 hours a day. Satya says he used to have daily targets to complete the portions of studies and whenever he’d achieve those targets, he used to get a satisfactory feeling. Everything was going right until March 24th, when PM Modi announced the historic nationwide lockdown for 3 weeks which went further on till 3 months. The exams postponed. The exams were postponed 4 times during that year and Satya, being at his home in Latur, could only wait and study. He was in fact disturbed and distracted between May 2020 to September 2020, but afterwards he studied consistently, thoroughly and appeared for exam. I remember him ranting and panicking over the tough SFM paper he had, still he appeared for the whole exam. He was very doubtful for SFM and Risk Management. You can notice his score in those particular subjects. He passed CA Final both groups with flying colors. He cleared all the levels of CA in the very first attempt, just 1% students are able to do this. Following is his marks statement.

Satya describes reaction of his parents’ in precise words that his father had tears of joy in his eyes while his grandpa said he’ll live 5 more years as the grandson earned this huge success. All his family members and friends were extremely happy for him quite obviously.

Satyajeet’s Take on Spirituality, Love and Life

Satya is a firm believer of god and also very much keen to explore spirituality. He said that prayers and honest devotion do work. His overall life approach is very simple, that you shouldn’t just spoil anything out of impulsive reaction. He is concerned about anyone having suicidal thoughts. He justifies to be selfish for your own good and he recommends to be shameless at times but says that never ever compromise on your self respect.

When asked about having relationship, Satyajeet strongly recommended to have it after you achieve your career goals. He also pointed out to clearly distinguish between love and lust.

In life, you should never compare anyone with yourself at any stage, said Satya.

Satyajeet’s Career Guidance

Consistency and Perseverance are the keys to any tough examination out there, says Satya. He mentioned a famous saying by CA Parveen Sharma Sir, that prior 5 years before you become a CA and the 5 years after you become a CA, will decisively shape your life. You should extensively focus on your career all this while as told by Satyajeet. He shares an example and I quote, “Imagine being a batsman on a difficult pitch with a strong opponent team. The bowler is someone whom you are supposed to face and answer with your bat but the fielders and wicket keeper will sledge over you. They’ll try hard to distract your attention. If you pay any heed to what they say, you lose the ground and if you don’t, you start playing good.”

CA Karan Chandwani

The measurements of success have been distorted in today’s world. There are people like Karan Chandwani who underline the true definition of success by their acts. Let’s get to know more about this amazing personality.

About Karan Chandwani

Born and brought up in Pune, Karan always wanted to pursue career in the field of technology. He was a bright student in his school days. Alongside, he was an undoubted hero of extra curriculum activities as well. During his school days he has won various contests like Student of the Year by Times of India; Runner’s Up Trophy at Master Halo; The IT Kid Award for excellent performance in IT and Programming; Has won National Level Designing and IT Contests and Runners Up at Jose Memorial Trophy.

After passing his 10th Standard with good marks, he enrolled himself in one of the top science colleges in Pune in order to step forward for his engineering. Realising the high cost of engineering colleges, Karan wanted to earn for the engineering college fee by his own. Let me remind you, readers, Karan belongs to a middle-class family. He had the spontaneity to earn his own money for the proposed college fee, at the age lesser than 17, while most of us are unaware of the harsh reality of the world and are in the intoxication of hormonal changes we have at that age. This is where Karan’s extraordinary journey started.

Efforts, Hustle and the First Switch-Over

While most of you will be wondering, how a passionate techno-savy guy, who was earning his own money for engineering college fee, eventually became a Chartered Accountant? There is a wonderful history of making wiser choices behind it. Karan put a lot of hardwork in his 11th and 12th Science. He used to go to college from 8 AM to 3 PM and used to go for a part time job for 4 PM to 11.30 PM, he sacrificed his sleeps in order to study when he would come home at midnights. That continued for 2 years. He appeared for the IIT Joint Entrance Exam alias IIT JEE. He very well understood that this JEE is not going to yield expected results. He was looking for alternative career options. Here comes the turning point. One of Karan’s school friends introduced him to the Chartered Accountancy Course. He quickly enrolled for CA CPT, which used to be an entrance exam for CA back in 2014. As a CA student myself, I very well know what it would take to crack CPT in the first attempt. Karan did it, despite having a science background in HSC and despite continuing the part time job at his disposal. One big milestone was achieved by him with flying colours. Now think for a while, instead of focusing on mirage of ranks and high score in exams, he chose to earn, learn, put effort and pass out in the first attempt. Is this any lesser than holding a rank without having the taste of hustle at all? The numbers you get in exam would only help you get to the next level but these experiences, they help you succeed in all the ups and downs in your life.

Turned out that Karan scored good enough in the IIT JEE as well, to get in any top engineering college in Pune. Now he had 2 equally good but different choices. Karan enrolled for IPCC, or the Intermediate level of CA Course. This level requires 10 times as much efforts against those for CPT. Karan used to go for the IPCC Coaching at 7 AM in the morning till 2 PM in the afternoon, followed by his part time job from 4 PM to 11:30 PM. This is third consecutive year of Karan’s earning and learning. At the age around 18-19, Karan already had a 3 years of work experience along with good records in his academics. How many Indian kids of that age has this ability? Let me put this straight, everyone has the ability to put the efforts, they just need to realise the value of putting efforts. This realisation, this endless desire of getting better and learning new skills, is what makes Karan Chandwani successful. Nobody knows the fate of their actions before results. Results are, anyway, just the numbers of measuring the efforts you have taken. True success lies in consistency, pushing the limits, high level of curiosity along with the ambition to get to the next level.

Many including me, are the victims of distraction. Everyone is hostile in this case. Everyone is vulnerable to distractions. What’s special about Karan in this regard? Readers, you have read about Karan’s schedules so far, when did Karan have time for getting carried away with distractions? Did you find the key? Everyone is vulnerable to distractions until they are too busy with something very meaningful and important. Karan was busy with his IPCC coaching and his part-time job. That hardly allowed any time for him to get carried away with the distractions. The year of 2014 was the real turning point in his life. He changed his career option, he made it through the first level in the first attempt, he met new people; and amidst all these, he was consistent in his academics and he was earning on his own through the part-time job.

CA-IPCC Exam and Results

2015 arrived. Karan appeared for the intermediate level exam i.e. IPCC in May. Since this is the intermediate level of one of the most noble professions in India, you may imagine the toughness of this examination. This level used to be a 700 marks exam back then, passing aggregate being 50% i.e. minimum 350 marks to pass. One must score at least 40 out of 100 in every subject. The entire exam is divided in two groups. Group 1 containing 4 subjects, group 2 for remaining 3 subjects. Karan’s score in this exam proves that odds favour the honest. Even one mark lesser could make a second attempt for Karan. This is the miracle, the godly reward for the honest efforts he put. Karan passed the IPCC with flying colours, in the very first attempt. Not everyone can do this. Checkout the marks statement given below.

Group 1

Maximum Marks

Minimum Marks

Marks Obtained

Paper 1

100

40

40

Paper 2

100

40

68

Paper 3

100

40

40

Paper 4

100

40

40

Total

400

200

188

Group 2

Maximum Marks

Minimum Marks

Marks Obtained

Paper 6

100

40

40

Paper 7

100

40

58

Paper 8

100

40

64

Total

300

150

162

Group

Maximum Marks

Minimum Marks

Marks Obtained

Group 1

400

200

188

Group 2

300

150

162

Total

700

350

350

Articleship, Volunteering and Socio-Political Work

The next level after clearing CA Intermediate, is Articleship (the 3 year long internship of CA Course). This is the deciding factor of one’s entire CA Career that where and how does he pursues his articleship. Karan took it quite seriously. He interviewed for a lot CA firms ranging from small, mid-sized to the bigger ones. He was selected in as many as 110 firms in Pune. After thoroughly analyzing all of them and considering the plans for his own future, he selected a mid-sized firm. He joined his articleship in August 2015. He would go to the firm for 10 AM to 7 PM, followed by his part time job. Gradually, he started volunteering at various events organised by Western India Chartered Accountant Students Association’s Pune branch (Student wing of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, hereinafter referred to as WICASA). He also volunteered in programmes arranged by Digital Cell of Pune BJP. This is the third big factor in Karan’s career. It feels nearly impossible to do so much in the span of 24 hours. Passionate soul, curious & ignited mind and pure enthusiasm is needed to be this much active and concentrated at the same time

Vice-Chairman of Pune WICASA

Volunteering at WICASA’s programmes introduced him to new people. Pune WICASA is the second largest CA Students wing in India. WICASA consists of a chairman, who is a Chartered Accountant and a member of branch committee at that respective branch. All the other members of WICASA, including the vice chairman, are the CA Students, duly elected through an election process. Karan was elected as Vice Chairman for the WICASA committee of 2016-17. This was going to be one of the biggest milestones in Karan’s life, as being WICASA Vice Chairman brings you enormous opportunity to represent more than 25000 CA students of Pune Branch, to execute the responsibility to lead and represent them at national level, to increase your network, build your personality, meet new and important people and experience the arrangement, conduct and management of big programmes for CA students. During Karan’s tenure as a vice chairman, Pune WICASA conducted many programmes, seminars, sessions. Two of the most successful programmes were the youth festival (Jallosh) of December 2016 and the National Convention for CA Students in January 2017. The 2 day convention had the crowd of nearly 3600 students including me. Karan experienced to reach and call big personalities for the event. Can you realise the level of improvement in communication skills after all this? Success is a continuous process. It has to be nourished in every aspect, consistently, just like this. The rewards are just the evidences of how well you done. Karan’s WICASA team earned second prize for the Best Students’ Association of Western Region.

Multi-Tasking and Enormous Efforts

The year 2016 went adventurous for Karan as the 1.5 years of his articleship were completed and by February 2017, he became one of the most renowned CA Students in Pune. Now that his articleship was near completion, he joined coaching for CA Finals in March 2017. Almost 2 years were completed for his articleship. He learnt the work, new skills in his articleship and also well executed his responsibility as Vice Chairman of Pune WICASA. He says it was really difficult to spend 18-20 hours of a day to all these responsibilities but the experience of multi-tasking, the valuable gain of efficiency of work especially under pressure was the reward of all those sacrificed night outs and weekends. As well, he also managed to freelance in accounting for his clients during his articleship.

The CA Final Journey

Karan’s CA Final Coaching went on till April 2018. He went on study leave on 15th January 2018. He appeared for the CA Final exam in May 2018. This 3.5 months journey had many challenges in his way. Firstly, he was not confident about the exam. I can imagine how worse it can be, when Karan, after all he experienced through these years, feels under confident for the exam. He appeared for mock tests but he miserably failed in them. He also had a minor surgery in April which led Karan to bed rest for almost half a month. His studies were badly disturbed. He also started to have some emotional breakdowns near the exam dates. He still managed to overcome the breakdowns, he managed to study more than 10-12 hours a day in the last 15 days. He appeared the exams and as said earlier, honesty and efforts always pay off. Karan passed the CA Final Exam in the very first attempt. That makes him the first attempt passout at all the 3 levels of CA, he is amongst the 1% people who are able to do this! He became CA at the age of 21!

I think Karan won this battle when he made his comeback after the minor surgery, the bed rest and the emotional breakdown. He handled the situation quite very well. No matter that his time table was disturbed, no matter the odds tried to drag him away from his expected result, he kept on fighting. This is the integrity needed for success. Even if you wish to put efforts, there are obstacles in putting efforts too. Karan’s story tells to make sure that you do not stop hustling when you deal with the obstacles. Karan’s story tells us to be okay with making mistakes, accepting them and not repeating them. Karan’s story tells us to be brave in hostile situations.

Understanding Karan’s Strategies of Success

Karan has specifically told about strategies of his academic success. Those are as follows.

“1. Conceptual clarity (one will surely get this if he/she attends all the classes properly, I never missed a single lecture).

2. Strong fundamentals (one cannot understand the concepts and cases based on a certain topic unless you don’t understand those topics at the first hand). One needs to go back to the previously learned topics and revise them for building strong fundamentals.

3. Completing the whole syllabus and cumulatively revising them as much as you can.

4. Practicing revising the whole subject in a span of 10 to 12 hours, which we get one day before our exam, at least twice or thrice. This is very critical I feel.

5. Speed and efficiency equally matter when we start writing the paper. We have to complete our whole paper in order to score the maximum marks.

6. The more calm you can be, the more you can score, while writing your paper.

7. Proper planning, right from the first day.

8. We all need to work hard in order to be lucky.”

Now that Karan was a first attempter CA, it would not have been much difficult to get employed in any of the Big 4’s i.e. KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, and EY with attractive salary packages. There’s one more thing needed to be successful, that is the sense of sustaining and increasing the success; and that sense involves vision, passion, and rationale. Karan chose to practice directly. Now let me give you a little flashback. The year here is 2018. Two years ago from being a CA, Karan started to acquire leadership skills. 6 years prior to being a CA, Karan started to earn on his own. One and a half years ago of being a CA, Karan executed the largest ever Convention held for CA Students in Pune. Karan had developed so much for his own business skills that even a tier 1 B-School would fail to provide this much. That’s exactly where Karan’s experiences built up. He confidently started his practice in Business Process Automation, something extremely rare in CA Profession. Remember the techno-savvy school kid who changed his career alternative after his 12th? Karan fulfilled his dream of learning, practicing, and executing in the field of technology.

Karan’s Career After Being a CA.

Apart from practicing in BPA and RPA, Karan also happens to be a teacher and a motivational speaker. Karan was keen to teach in his days of being a CA Student. He started teaching at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, one of the most prestigious institutes in India. He also started teaching for CA Foundation Students at one of the renowned CA Coachings in Pune. He also provided free counselling to school and college students in the fields of entrepreneurship and financial awareness, in association with various social organisations. He has conducted more than 115 such programmes and has counselled over 20000 students. He has also conducted training sessions for Class-01 GST officials. In December 2020 itself, he has given coaching to over 8000 students. Let me remind you again, readers, as of today when I write this in January 2021, Karan has not even crossed 25 years of his age and his achievements have already made this blog the second largest on our website. Such is the magnitude of this man.

After being a CA, he has contributed in various research papers published by ICAI, AOSSG, WIRC of ICAI etc.

Karan’s General Guidance on Spirituality, Learning and Skills

Karan says, and I quote, “The end of basic education phase is just the beginning of forever learning process of life.” He says that success is the process of becoming newer, better version of yourself everyday. He also underlines to have a mentor at each stage of life.

Talking about spirituality, this is what Karan said, “Throughout my life I have been very spiritual. Being spiritual for me means to believe in the eternal energy that is around us, which is making things happen, which is boosting us to do what we wish to. Being spiritual is to believe in your inner self too, nourish your soul with fruitful and positive thoughts so that we can bring change within ourselves and then in the world we live in.”

Karan said that it is important to have hobbies and skills. It is important to execute the skills to some practical cause. The more you learn new skills at early days of your life, more you become prepared for the business world.

Karan always choses to be simple. He choses to keep things extremely simple. Let’s take a look at a day in Karan’s life;

A – Restructuring Processes & Designing SOPs.

B – Training & Coaching.

C – Reading, Interacting with People, Spending Time with Students.

D – Strengthening Client Satisfaction & Support System at KCC.

Networking, building and maintaining public relations is extremely important for an individual’s growth as he said. I’d like to conclude this blog with his one last quote, “Money is important in life, but happiness coming out of satisfaction is more.”

Warm Regards,
